The problem
The page was built in a funnel builder with heavy hero media, render-blocking scripts and layout shifts from late-loading fonts. Every second of delay was costing paid traffic.
What I did
I audited the page with Lighthouse and field data, then fixed the causes in order of impact: resized and preloaded the hero image, deferred third-party scripts, reserved space for media to stop layout shifts, and cleaned up font loading.
Results
- LCP 11.6s → 2.2s
- Lighthouse performance 65 → 97
- Layout shift (CLS) brought into the green
- Same design, no rebuild needed
